Chapter 6 - THE CONFESSION UNDER THE LIGHTSEthan lunged forward down the central aisle, his face twisted in a mask of pure, unadulterated panic. The charming, polished brand consultant was completely gone, replaced by a desperate, cornered animal.

"She's lying!" Ethan shouted, pointing a shaking finger at Claire. "Look at her! She’s off her medication! She’s been institutionalizing herself in her own delusions for months! This whole thing is a psychotic break!"

Several reporters in the press pit began typing furiously on their phones, live-blogging every second of the confrontation. The livestream chat feeds were exploding with hundreds of thousands of comments, emojis, and shocked reactions.

Marcus Vance did not blink. He slowly reached into his suit pocket, pulled out a thick manila envelope, and tossed it onto the empty seat beside him.

"Mr. Bennett," Vance said, his voice dropping into a dangerous, glacial register. "My legal team spent the last four hours auditing the metadata on the files Miss Bennett sent this morning. Not only are the vector drawings timestamped two years before Hale House was even incorporated, but we also found your digital signature on a wire transfer moving funds from Claire Bennett’s personal studio account directly into Vanessa Hale’s private modeling agency account."

Ethan stopped dead in his tracks. His mouth opened slightly, but no words came out. The color drained completely from his face, leaving him looking gray and hollow beneath the studio lights.

Vanessa, standing stranded at the end of the runway in the heavy black gown, burst into tears. The mascara began to streak down her cheeks, ruining her professionally contoured face for all the cameras zooming in from twenty feet away.

"Ethan told me she gave it to us!" Vanessa screamed, turning on him with sudden, venomous fury. "He said she was willing to sell the rights for pennies! He said she was just a ghostwriter who didn't care about fame!"

"Shut up!" Ethan yelled back, turning on Vanessa with a snarl. "You dumb cow, you ruined everything!"

The open hostility between the two partners played out live across the massive projection screens above the stage, broadcasting their mutual betrayal to a global audience of millions.

Claire stood quietly at the foot of the runway, watching them tear each other apart. She didn't feel triumph. She didn't feel joy. She only felt a profound, cleansing emptiness—the sensation of a wound finally being exposed to the air so it could heal.

"You didn't just steal my designs, Ethan," Claire said softly, stepping up the first step of the runway. "You tried to erase my mother, my work, and my mind. You thought that because I was quiet, I was weak."

She stopped two steps up, looking down at her husband with an expression of absolute pity.

"You forgot that the women in my family didn't just sew clothes," Claire said, her voice carrying clearly through the silent hall. "We built the foundation."
