CHAPTER 2 – The Billionaire Behind the Mop

Wednesday morning.
Titan Global prepared for the biggest board meeting in twenty years.
Rumors filled every hallway.
"The mysterious majority shareholder is finally coming."
"No one has ever seen him."
"They say he's worth over twenty billion dollars."
"The CEO himself is nervous."
Executives polished presentations.
Lawyers rehearsed introductions.
Security doubled throughout the building.
Meanwhile...
Ethan quietly mopped the executive hallway.
Ryan walked past again.
"You still here?"
He laughed.
"You'll probably never meet the owner."
Then he shoved Ethan's cleaning cart aside.
Water spilled across the marble floor.
More laughter.
Ryan leaned closer.
"You know what?"
"When the new owner arrives...
I might ask him to replace every janitor in this building."
Ethan looked at him calmly.
"You should always be careful what you ask powerful people."
Ryan laughed.
"You?"
"Powerful?"
The executives laughed with him.
Exactly ten minutes later...
Every elevator stopped.
Security radios exploded with activity.
"VIP arriving!"
Employees rushed toward the windows.
Instead of luxury limousines...
A black helicopter landed directly on the rooftop.
The company had never used that helipad before.
Four black SUVs surrounded the landing zone.
Men in dark suits stepped out first.
Then came attorneys.
Financial advisers.
Federal security contractors.
Finally...
The helicopter door opened.
Silence.
One polished leather shoe touched the ground.
Then another.
Everyone waited to see the billionaire.
Seconds later...
The entire executive floor froze.
The man walking toward them...
Was Ethan.
Still wearing the same old jacket.
Still carrying the same worn cleaning gloves.
The CEO sprinted across the room.
Then...
To everyone's horror...
He bowed.
"Welcome home, Chairman Brooks."
Every executive stood instantly.
Board members followed.
Lawyers lowered their heads.
Ryan's smile disappeared.
Someone whispered...
"The janitor..."
Another answered...
"No..."
"That's the founder."
Ethan slowly removed his gloves.
"I built Titan Global forty-three years ago."
"I stepped away because I wanted to know one thing..."
He looked around the room.
"...what kind of people were running my company when they believed no one important was watching."
Every heartbeat in the room seemed to stop.
Ryan's face turned white.
Then Ethan asked the question that would destroy dozens of careers.
"Would someone please play the lobby security footage from Monday morning?"
The giant screen lit up.
Every insult.
Every laugh.
Every humiliation.
Every employee watched themselves on camera.
May you like
No one could look away.
And Ethan hadn't even begun making decisions yet.
