CHAPTER 2 – THE PRISONER EVERYONE FEARED

The woman who stepped forward was called Raven.

No last name.

No friends.

No mercy.

For three years, nobody in Blackridge Prison had dared to stand close to her.

But now she was standing in front of the bleeding new inmate like a shield.

Monica’s face twisted with anger.

“You protecting this little nobody?”

Raven didn’t blink.

“She’s not nobody.”

The whole yard went silent.

The new inmate slowly lifted her head.

For the first time, everyone saw her face clearly.

And Raven’s cold expression changed.

Just for one second.

Pain flashed in her eyes.

Monica noticed.

Then she smiled.

“Oh…”

She stepped back, laughing.

“You know her.”

The guards finally moved closer, but they still didn’t stop it.

They wanted to see what would happen too.

Raven turned slightly toward the young woman and whispered, “Why are you here?”

The newcomer’s lips trembled.

“They said I killed my husband.”

Raven’s face went pale.

The yard exploded with whispers.

Because everyone knew Raven’s story.

Years ago, she had been imprisoned for murdering the man who destroyed her family.

But the rumor was darker than that.

People said Raven had a daughter.

A daughter who disappeared the same night the crime happened.

Raven stared at the young inmate’s necklace.

A tiny silver locket hung beneath her prison shirt.

Her hands began to shake.

“Where did you get that?” Raven asked.

The young woman touched it.

“My mother left it with me before she vanished.”

Raven took one step back like she had been shot.

Monica’s smile disappeared.

The guards looked at each other.

Because suddenly, this wasn’t a prison fight anymore.

This was a secret coming back from the dead.

Raven reached for the locket with trembling fingers.

Inside was an old photo.

A younger Raven.

Holding a baby girl.

The new inmate whispered, “My name is Lily.”

Raven’s eyes filled with tears.

And the entire yard watched the most feared prisoner in Blackridge break down.

But before Lily could ask anything else—

The prison alarm screamed.

Red lights flashed across the walls.

A guard ran into the yard shouting:

“Lockdown! Now!”

Then another guard pointed straight at Lily.

“She’s not supposed to be alive.”

Raven grabbed Lily’s hand.

And for the first time in her life…

The woman everyone feared looked terrified.

Because Lily hadn’t been sent to prison by accident.

Someone on the outside had found Raven’s daughter.
