CHAPTER 1 — THE FALL THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE PERFECT MURDER

When Richard Harrison died, the entire city mourned the legendary businessman.

For forty-five years, he had built one of the largest shipping companies on the East Coast. Newspapers called him a genius. Investors admired him. Employees respected him.

But inside the Harrison mansion, no one cried longer than his wife.

Eleanor Harrison had spent forty years beside her husband. She had stood beside him before the money, before the fame, before the luxury yachts and private helicopters. She remembered the nights they shared a single meal because they couldn't afford another.

After Richard's funeral, something inside Eleanor broke.

She stopped attending charity galas.

She rarely answered phone calls.

She spent most evenings sitting alone on the porch, watching the ocean where Richard had loved sailing.

The silence frightened her sons.

Not because they missed their mother.

Because they feared she might live another twenty years.

Richard's entire fortune—worth hundreds of millions of dollars—had legally transferred to Eleanor.

The company.

The penthouse.

The private island.

Every bank account.

Every investment.

Everything.

One evening, the three brothers gathered in the mansion library.

Andrew, the eldest, slammed a folder onto the table.

"She's refusing to transfer anything."

Michael rubbed his forehead.

"She keeps saying she'll leave everything to us... after she dies."

Daniel laughed bitterly.

"So we're supposed to wait twenty years?"

Andrew looked at both brothers.

"Or... we stop waiting."

The room fell silent.

Nobody objected.

Weeks passed.

First came emotional manipulation.

"Mom, we're worried about you."

Then guilt.

"Dad would've wanted us to manage the company."

Then fake concern.

"You shouldn't have all this stress at your age."

But Eleanor smiled gently every time.

"My boys... you'll receive everything someday. But while I'm alive, I want the freedom to choose."

Freedom.

That single word infuriated them.

Soon they hired lawyers to forge signatures.

It failed.

The banks demanded Eleanor appear in person.

Their frustration slowly transformed into something much darker.

One rainy evening, Andrew arrived with champagne.

"Mom!"

She looked surprised.

"My birthday isn't until tomorrow."

"I know."

Andrew smiled warmly.

"We've planned something special."

For the first time in months...

Eleanor smiled.

"What kind of surprise?"

Michael handed her a small envelope.

Inside...

A luxury helicopter tour over the Atlantic.

Including a tandem parachute experience.

Eleanor laughed.

"You boys actually remembered I always wanted to fly."

Daniel hugged her.

"You deserve to feel alive again."

Her eyes filled with tears.

For one brief moment...

She truly believed her sons still loved her.

The next morning the weather was perfect.

Blue skies.

Crystal-clear water.

Golden sunlight danced across the endless ocean.

The helicopter climbed higher and higher.

Eleanor admired the breathtaking view.

"I wish your father could see this..."

Andrew placed an arm around her shoulder.

"He can."

The pilot announced they were approaching the jump zone.

The helicopter door slid open.

Wind roared inside.

One instructor prepared parachutes.

Another checked safety harnesses.

Andrew pointed toward the horizon.

"Mom... come look."

She stepped closer.

Holding the metal handle.

Looking down at the endless sea.

Her heart raced—not from fear, but excitement.

She smiled.

"This is beautiful..."

Then—

A violent shove slammed into her back.

Her fingers slipped.

The world disappeared beneath her feet.

She screamed.

The helicopter shrank above her.

The ocean rushed toward her at terrifying speed.

High above...

Her sons watched without moving.

Andrew whispered coldly,

"It's over."

None of them noticed...

The pilot had turned completely pale.

Because something had gone horribly wrong.

Something none of them had planned.

May you like

And within minutes...

Their perfect crime would become the biggest nightmare of their lives.
