Chapter 10 - The Unbreakable CrownOne year to the day after the gray Tuesday morning that changed everything, the sun shone warm and bright over 442 Pine Ridge Road.

The front lawn was vibrant green, the flowerbeds burst with colorful tulips, and the house stood tall, solid, and entirely untouchable against the clear blue Syracuse sky.

Inside the spacious kitchen—the very room where my father had grabbed me by the hair and tried to erase my existence—little Lucas, now a sturdy, walking toddler, chased a bright red rubber ball across the polished linoleum, his infectious giggles echoing off the walls.

I stood by the kitchen island, sipping a cup of coffee and watching him with a quiet, fierce smile on my face.

My phone chimed on the marble counter. An email notification from the New York State Supreme Court and the Westchester County Clerk’s Office.

I opened it.

“NOTICE OF FINALIZATION: All remaining encumbrances, asset freezes, and provisional corporate liens associated with the estate of Lucas Gallagher and the Baldwin-Gallagher Trust are hereby officially lifted. Victoria Gallagher is designated as sole, absolute, and unchallengeable owner of all domestic and commercial properties in perpetuity.”

I tapped the screen, locking the phone, and slipped it into my pocket.

The past was gone. The ghosts of greed, betrayal, and violence had been swept away by the merciless tide of justice and absolute resilience.

There was no fear left in my heart, only a profound, unshakable peace.

I walked across the kitchen, scooped my son up into my arms, and lifted him high into the warm spring air as he squealed with joy.
