Chapter 4 - The Exposure on National Television

"You... you set me up," David whispered, the reality finally crashing down on him. His face went from pale to an unnatural, sickly green. "You planned this."
"No, David," I replied, standing up slowly, supporting my belly with one hand. "You set yourself up the moment you decided that success gave you the right to be a tyrant. I didn't make you shove me last night. I didn't make you scream at me in the parking garage. You did that all on your own. I am simply letting you experience the consequences."
Beatrice stood up, her purse shaking in her hand. "This is entrapment! We will sue you! We will take this to the press! The world will know that the great Elena Vance is a manipulative, cold-hearted woman who ruined her husband while pregnant!"
Victoria Sterling chuckled, a sound that sent chills down Beatrice’s spine. "Please, Mrs. Miller, do take it to the press. Because if you don’t, we will." Victoria tapped her tablet, and the massive projection screen on the boardroom wall flickered to life.
It was a live broadcast of the national business news channel, Finance Today. The ticker at the bottom read: BREAKING NEWS: TECH RISING STAR DAVID MILLER ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT; MILLER NEXUS FACES HOSTILE TAKEOVER BY VANCE GROUP.
The screen showed high-definition security footage from the Grand Crest Hotel lobby from the night before. The footage was crystal clear. It showed David grabbing my arm, his face twisted in rage. It showed him screaming at me. And then, it showed him violently shoving his heavily pregnant wife onto the marble floor and walking away as I lay there in pain.
The anchor’s voice boomed through the boardroom speakers: "Shocking footage leaked early this morning from the ultra-luxury Grand Crest Hotel. Tech entrepreneur David Miller, currently seeking billions in venture capital, was caught on camera brutally assaulting his wife, who has now been identified as the elusive, media-shy billionaire heiress Elena Vance. Sources confirm the Vance Group has initiated a full default sequence against Miller's company..."
David stared at the screen, his mouth hanging open. The phone in his pocket began to ring violently. Then Beatrice’s phone started ringing. And then the boardroom phone rang.
"That footage..." David stammered, tears of sheer panic finally spilling down his cheeks. "Who leaked that? The hotel security protocols are airtight!"
"I am the hotel protocols, David," I said, walking toward the door. "Every camera in that building belongs to me. By noon today, every tech blog, every news network, and every single one of your potential investors will have seen what a coward you are. Your reputation is dead. Your company is mine. And now, we talk about the divorce."

David collapsed backward into his chair, burying his face in his hands, weeping openly as his mother frantically tried to answer her ringing phone, screaming at reporters to leave them alone.
CHAPTER 4 HOOK: Within five minutes, David went from an ambitious tech CEO to the most hated man in the country. But the final blow hasn't even landed yet—because he still thinks he has a right to my child.
