Chapter 6 - THE CROWN OF THORN AND GOLD (THE FINAL TWIST)'

Two weeks after the grand boardroom reveal, the dust had finally settled over the city.

The story of the torn dress and the billionaire heir had become legendary—a modern parable of arrogant power meeting absolute authority.

Late at night, inside the private, top-floor study of the Harrington Estate, Leonard sat sipping a glass of vintage port by a roaring fireplace. The door opened softly, and Aria walked in, holding a leather-bound dossier.

"The final papers for the Voss acquisition are signed, Grandfather," Aria said, setting the file down on his mahogany desk. "Julian Sterling’s legal team offered a full guilty plea in exchange for dropping the federal conspiracy charges. He will serve twenty-five years without parole."

Leonard looked up at his granddaughter, a deep, enigmatic smile gracing his face.

"Excellent," Leonard murmured. He took a sip of his drink and set the glass down. "You handled everything flawlessly, Aria. Exactly as we planned three years ago."

Aria smiled back—a smile that was neither innocent nor quiet. It was the smile of an absolute mastermind.

"Three years ago, when you told me that Voss Enterprises and Julian were secretly leeching money from our offshore accounts," Aria said, sitting down across from him, "I knew standard legal channels would take a decade of litigation. They had too many crooked judges and politicians in their pockets."

"So you gave them what they wanted," Leonard chuckled softly. "An easy target."

The ultimate truth was something the public, the press, and Selena Voss would never know.

Aria hadn't been sent into the world six months ago to merely "learn humility." The entire scenario—the five-year-old sedan, the intern job, the low-profile charity gala invitation, even her deliberate choice of the frail blue dress—had been calculated by Aria herself.

She had spent six months researching Selena Voss’s psychological profile. She knew Selena was an insecure, cruel narcissist who couldn't resist picking on someone who appeared powerless. Aria had deliberately walked into that gala knowing Selena would attack her in front of the cameras.

She had used Selena’s own vanity as the ultimate catalyst to force Julian Sterling out of the shadows, exposing their entire shadow network in a single, catastrophic weekend.

"They thought they were playing chess with a helpless girl," Aria mused, looking out at the rain washing over the windowpane.

"And they didn't realize," Leonard added, raising his glass in a silent toast to his brilliant successor, "that the girl was the grandmaster who owned the board."

Aria raised her own glass, touching it against her grandfather's with a crisp, crystal chime.

"To the night the wrong man watched," Aria whispered, her eyes glowing with undisputed power. "And the night the right woman took the crown."
