Chapter 7 - The Downfall of the ConspiratorsTwo local police officers stepped into the ballroom, flanked by heavy-duty security personnel. Between them was Julian Vance, sweating profusely in his expensive tailored suit, his hands cuffed behind his back.

Julian took one look at Celeste and immediately broke down. “Don't look at me like that! It was her idea! She said Mason was rewriting his will to leave the entire estate to his estranged relatives, and we had to frame someone on the inside to steal the archive keys while planting fake evidence!”
Celeste screamed, lunging at Julian like a wildcat, her nails raking across his cheek before the officers pulled her back. “Shut your filthy mouth, you incompetent fool!”
“That’s enough!” the lead police officer barked, snapping steel handcuffs around Celeste’s wrists. “Celeste Vance, you are under arrest for conspiracy, extortion, and attempted framing of an innocent citizen. You have the right to remain silent...”
The high-society guests watched in stunned, horrified silence as one of their own elite members was dragged out of the grand ballroom in handcuffs, weeping hysterically and screaming obscenities. The glittering Christmas tree lights seemed to mock her sudden, catastrophic downfall.

Mason stood amidst the chaos, but his victory felt hollow. He looked up toward the grand staircase, remembering Evelyn’s tear-filled eyes and the terrified face of little Lily.
He had a massive wrong to right. And he knew just where to start.
