Chapter 8 - The Ultimate Twist & ResolutionMy father reached down and picked up the encrypted USB drive from my hand. He walked over to a terminal box on the silo wall and plugged it in.

"Now," my father said, "we end this."

"Dad, wait!" I shouted. "If you upload that to the global server, it exposes everyone on that list—including Marcus, the judges, and the syndicate bosses."

"That's the point, Ethan," my father replied, pressing the execution key.

The terminal screen flashed green: GLOBAL TRANSMISSION COMPLETE. COPIES FORWARDED TO DOJ & FEDERAL AUTHORITIES.

Outside, the siren blares of dozens of law enforcement vehicles echoed across the riverfront. Red and blue lights flashed through the high frosted windows of the silo. Federal agents raided the complex, breaching the doors with weapons drawn.

"FEDERAL AGENTS! HANDS IN THE AIR!"

My father calmly put his hands up, looking at me with a soft, peaceful smile. "It's over, Ethan. The syndicate is dismantled."

As the FBI secured Marcus and processed the scene, a senior lead agent walked up to us, extending his hand to my father.

"Special Agent Sterling," the lead agent said to my father. "Undercover assignment successfully concluded after 120 months. Excellent work."

I stared at my father in complete shock. "Special Agent?! You weren't a furniture builder who got caught up with criminals... you were deep-cover FBI?!"

My father chuckled, scratching Jerry behind the ears. "I was a carpenter before I joined the Bureau, son. Hiding multi-million dollar evidence inside a re-upholstered couch? That was just using my trade."
