Chapter 6 - THE UNSEEN THREATThree thousand miles away, in a secluded penthouse overlooking the sweeping, rain-slicked coastline of Zurich, a single desk lamp illuminated a sprawling mahogany table covered in blueprints, financial ledgers, and newspaper clippings about the fall of Elena Vance.

A tall man sat in the leather armchair, swirling a glass of amber scotch. His face remained completely hidden in the dim shadows of the corner.

On the desk before him, a secure laptop screen blinked with a live flight tracker showing the trajectory of a private Gulfstream jet departing from New York.

The man took a slow sip of his drink. He didn't look angry. In fact, a faint, razor-sharp smile played at the corners of his mouth.

"Let him run," a voice murmured from the doorway.

The man in the shadows didn't turn around. He simply set his glass down on the wood with a soft clack.

"Let him think he won," the man spoke, his voice a smooth, cultured baritone that carried a terrifying undercurrent of absolute control. "Elena was a clumsy fool who let ambition cloud her vision. But Adrian... Adrian is exactly where we need him to be."

The figure stepped forward slightly into the amber light, revealing a silver signet ring bearing a crest that made Elena Vance’s syndicate look like a children's playground game.

"Keep tracking the jet," the man ordered quietly. "When he reaches the island, that’s when the real game begins."
