Chapter 7 - THE ISLAND SANCTUARYDawn broke over the Pacific, painting the horizon in brilliant shades of gold, amber, and deep violet.

Below the descending Gulfstream lay Isla de los Pinos—a private, uncharted island fortress off the coast of Central America that didn't appear on any commercial maps. Ringed by jagged cliffs, dense jungle, and protected by state-of-the-art defense systems, it was the ultimate sanctuary Adrian had purchased years ago as an insurance policy against the very world he inhabited.
The jet touched down smoothly on the hidden airstrip carved directly into the volcanic rock.
When the cabin door opened, a warm, tropical breeze rushed in, carrying the scent of salt water, hibiscus, and pure freedom.
Adrian unbuckled Clara and lifted her into his arms. She blinked sleepily against the morning sun, stretching her tiny arms out wide as if greeting the new world.
"Welcome home, little one," Adrian whispered, stepping out onto the metal staircase.
Grace and Lucy followed close behind, gasping in wonder as they looked out at the sprawling Spanish-style estate nestled against the cliffs overlooking the endless blue ocean. Servants and security personnel stood waiting at the base of the stairs, their heads bowed respectfully not out of fear, but out of absolute loyalty to the man who had brought them together.
For the first time in eight months, the tightness in Adrian’s chest truly vanished. The nightmare of the cemetery chapel, the empty white coffin, and the betrayal of his closest friends felt like a lifetime away.
They spent the entire morning exploring the estate. Lucy chased colorful butterflies through the sprawling courtyard gardens while Grace helped set up the new nursery—a bright, airy room overlooking the ocean where the sound of crashing waves served as a permanent lullaby.

Adrian sat on the stone balcony outside his study, holding Clara as she drifted off to sleep against his chest.
For a few hours, the world was quiet.
