Chapter 5 - The Servant’s RevengeArthur Montgomery walked slowly past the pantry, his leather shoes squeaking against the wet floor. “You think Michael can save you? My men have already surrounded the perimeter. In ten minutes, this entire estate will burn to the ground, just like your car did seven years ago. And the public will believe it was an tragic gas leak!”

From the shadows behind the industrial kitchen stove, Emily reached for a heavy copper skillet hanging on the rack. She motioned for Noah to stay hidden behind the cabinet.
As Arthur turned his back to inspect the basement door, Emily lunged forward with blinding speed. She slammed the heavy copper pan straight into the side of Arthur’s head with all the strength of a mother protecting her child.
CRACK!
Arthur let out a groan and stumbled sideways, dropping his revolver across the slick floor. Before he could recover, Emily kicked the gun under the refrigerator and grabbed a heavy steel fire extinguisher from the wall. She sprayed the chemical foam directly into his face, blinding him instantly.
“AGHH! MY EYES!” Arthur screamed, stumbling blindly into the counter and knocking down a rack of expensive chef knives.
Michael burst into the kitchen, his shirt torn and blood dripping from a cut on his forehead, having disarmed the mercenary in the hall. He saw Arthur clawing at his eyes on the floor and Emily standing tall, holding the empty fire extinguisher like a shield.
“Emily!” Michael gasped.
“I’m not the helpless woman I was seven years ago, Michael,” Emily said, her breath ragged. “I spent three years surviving on these floors. I know how to fight for my family.”
Suddenly, the headlights of five armored police vehicles illuminated the estate’s driveway, sirens blaring through the storm. SWAT team officers poured into the house, flashlights blinding the dark corridors as they secured the mercenaries and cuffed Arthur Montgomery.

Alongside the police stepped in Federal Prosecutor Marcus Vance—Emily’s estranged cousin, who had been secretly investigating Arthur Montgomery’s corporate embezzlement for three long years.
“It’s over, Arthur,” Prosecutor Vance announced, tossing a stack of warrants onto the kitchen table. “We tracked your off-shore wire transfers twenty minutes ago when your daughter tried to liquidate the Vance Trust account.”
