Chapter 15 - THE TRAP SPRINGSI reached slowly into my coat pocket, my fingers wrapping around the small black plastic drive. Salvatore’s eyes gleamed with greedy triumph as he took another step forward, his cane clicking rhythmically against the concrete.

"That's it," Salvatore murmured, holding out a gloved hand. "Give it here, and your family debt is wiped clean."
"You killed my parents, didn't you?" I asked, stopping dead in my tracks, my voice sharp and piercing through the cavernous terminal.
Salvatore paused, his eyebrows arching in mild amusement. "They lacked vision, Elena. They wanted out of the syndicate. In our world, you don't retire. You get buried."
"You're right," a deep, chilling voice echoed from the shadows above. "In our world, you get buried."
Before Salvatore could react, a blinding wall of tactical floodlights snapped on from the catwalks overhead, turning the dark railway terminal as bright as midday. Red and blue laser sights from dozens of automatic rifles crisscrossed the air, locking directly onto Salvatore Vance.
From the surrounding entry points, Adrian Valente and a dozen heavily armed tactical operatives swarmed the floor, cutting off every possible escape route.
Salvatore’s expression didn't panic; instead, a dark, twisted smile spread across his face.
"You think you caught me, Adrian?" Salvatore laughed, raising two fingers and giving a sharp whistle.

From the shadows behind the rusted train cars, a dozen heavily armed mercenaries stepped out, their weapons raised—not pointing at Adrian, but holding heavy explosives wired directly to the main structural support columns of the terminal.
"If I go down," Salvatore snarled, his eyes blazing with madness, "this entire terminal—and everyone in it—goes up in flames."
