CHAPTER 1 — The Pool Turned Red

The moment I whispered, "I stopped being your wife," every phone inside the mansion exploded with alarms.

Not one.

Not ten.

Hundreds.

Tablets.

Servers.

Smart TVs.

Even Adrian's customized security system began speaking with the same cold female voice.

"Dead-Man Protocol Activated."

"Wallet Deletion Sequence: 3%..."

Adrian's face lost every drop of color.

"No..."

His trembling fingers reached for his phone.

The screen displayed thousands of transactions disappearing in real time.

Bitcoin.

Ethereum.

Cold wallets.

Private exchanges.

Offshore vaults.

Everything.

Gone.

Camille grabbed his arm.

"Adrian! Stop it!"

He shoved her aside.

"You stupid woman! She wasn't supposed to know!"

I slowly climbed out of the pool, soaked, bleeding, my huge pregnant belly shaking from exhaustion.

The baby kicked.

Alive.

Still alive.

I kissed my stomach.

"We won the first battle."

Adrian lunged toward me.

"You'll reverse it NOW!"

Before he reached me, every security gate around the estate slammed shut.

Steel barriers rose from the ground.

The mansion locked itself down.

It was my code.

Not his.

"You..." Adrian whispered.

"You left your fingerprints on every company..."

I smiled.

"I left something else."

The giant screen inside the living room suddenly lit up.

LIVE STREAM INITIATED

His entire executive board.

Every investor.

Every government compliance office.

Every financial regulator.

Every encrypted backup.

Watching.

Including one face Adrian never expected.

His father.

Richard Voss.

Founder of Voss Technologies.

The man Adrian claimed had retired because of illness.

Richard stared silently through the screen.

Then spoke only four words.

"Bring my son home."

May you like

Not to save him.

To judge him.
