Chapter 25 - The Sovereign (FINAL CHAPTER)

“KILL THEM! KILL THEM ALL!” Vance screamed in absolute, frantic madness.

Before the Board’s guards could raise their rifles, the massive glass dome overhead shattered in a roaring explosion!

CRASH!

Tactical ropes dropped from stealth helicopters hovering in the blizzard above! Dozens of European Federal Anti-Terrorism agents poured into the room, flashbang grenades exploding in blinding bursts of white light!

Dominic moved with lethal, fluid precision. He disarmed the guard beside him in a fraction of a second, pulled Vance by his silk collar, and slammed the old man face-first onto the glass console, pinning him down with an iron grip.

“Game over, Vance,” Dominic whispered into his ear as federal agents flooded the chateau floor, ordering the terrified board members to lay down their weapons.

Prosecutor Miller stepped through the shattered glass doors, holding a master federal arrest warrant.

“Victor Vance,” Miller announced over the roar of helicopter blades. “The Global Syndicate is officially bankrupt and under arrest.”

As Vance was dragged away in heavy chains, screaming curses into the freezing mountain air, the remaining Syndicate empire collapsed into complete, irreversible dust. The money was gone. The leaders were captured. The dark shadow that had loomed over Chicago and the world for fifty years was completely erased.

One year later.

A small, beautiful coastal village in New Zealand.

The sun was rising over green hills and tranquil blue waters. A modest white house stood near the shore, surrounded by blooming wildflowers and clear sea breeze.

Tyler was playing soccer on the lawn, his chest completely healed, his energy boundless. Noah was sitting on the wooden porch, reading a storybook out loud to a small black puppy.

I stood on the porch, holding two cups of steaming coffee.

Dominic stepped out behind me, wearing a simple gray sweater, his dark eyes soft and filled with a peace I had never seen before. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me close to his chest as we watched our children play in the sunlight.

“No secret ledgers,” I murmured, leaning back against him.

“No secret ledgers,” Dominic agreed, kissing the top of my head.

“No mafia bosses,” I smiled.

“Just a father,” Dominic whispered, his grip tightening around me with deep, eternal devotion. “And the woman who saved us all.”

I looked out over the endless blue horizon. The broke, desperate temp cleaner who walked into the Vale mansion four years ago was gone. In her place stood a woman who had faced the darkest monsters in the world and won.

We had burned an empire to the ground, and from its ashes, we had finally built a home.
