Richard did not sleep that night.
By sunrise, his anger had become a plan.
Arthur had humiliated him in front of everyone.
His own daughter had been chosen over him.
And the fortune he believed was his birthright had vanished with one signature.
So Richard called an emergency family meeting.
Not to apologize.
Not to make peace.
But to destroy the old man before the world believed him.
At nine in the morning, Eleanor sat at the head of the dining table, pale but composed.
Richard slammed Arthur’s trust documents onto the table.
“We are going to court.”
His sister, Caroline, folded her arms.
“On what grounds?”
Richard’s eyes turned cold.
“Insanity.”
The room went silent.
“If we prove Father is mentally unstable, the trust can be frozen.”
Eleanor slowly looked up.
“You want to declare your father incompetent?”
Richard leaned closer.
“He walked into his own mansion dressed like a homeless man. He hid billions. He gave control to an eight-year-old child.”
He smiled.
“That won’t look sane to a judge.”
But none of them noticed Emma standing outside the dining room door.
She had heard everything.
