Chapter 3 - The Price of Treason

Viral Hook: When the past catches up, it doesn’t just knock—it breaks the door down.Don Alejandro slammed the folder onto the heavy wooden table. The sound cracked through the room like thunder.
"Mauricio Estrada," Alejandro read aloud, his voice dripping with pure disdain. "Born in a small village just twenty kilometers from here. Married to Rosa Ramos. Two children: Mateo and Sofía. A man who forged a death certificate under his own name in his hometown to escape his debts and his family, only to resurrect himself in Guadalajara as 'Mauro Castelo,' a high-society bachelor."
Valeria stared at the documents. Her face turned a horrific shade of pale. She grabbed the papers, her hands shaking violently as she saw the official wedding photograph attached—a younger, humbler Mauricio standing proudly next to a radiant, smiling Rosa.
"No... No, this is a mistake," Valeria whispered, her voice cracking. Her pride was crumbling into ash. "Mauro... you told me your parents died in a yacht accident in Spain! You told me your wealth was inherited!"
"Valeria, listen to me," Mauricio pleaded, rushing forward and grabbing her hands. "I did it for us! I did it to escape the poverty, the misery! I am a visionary. I couldn't let myself be dragged down by a life of scrubbing floors and living in the mud! I love you. The wealth I have now is real, the business is real! We can still build our empire!"
"Get your hands off her," Don Alejandro roared, stepping between them with a ferocity that defied his sixty-eight years. He raised his cane, pointing it directly at Mauricio’s chest. "You are a parasite. You abandoned your own flesh and blood to rot in the dirt while you wore silk suits paid for by defrauding investors. You allowed your daughter to starve until her lungs burned, all for your filthy ambition."
Rosa walked over to Mauricio, her posture no longer defeated, but elevated by a fierce, maternal rage. She looked at the man she had loved for a decade, the man she had prayed for every night, thinking he had been kidnapped or murdered.

"I didn't want your money, Mauricio," Rosa said, her voice shaking with profound sorrow. "I wanted a husband. My children wanted their father. But today, looking at you... you are nothing but a monster dressed in expensive rags."
Mauricio’s desperation turned into dark malice. He stepped back, straightening his jacket, his handsome face distorting into a sinister sneer. "You think you’ve won, old man? You think this little dramatic reunion changes anything? Valeria is deeply invested in my company. Half of her personal funds are tied up in the Apex Luxury Group land acquisition. If I fall, your precious daughter goes bankrupt with me. So, what’s it going to be, Don Alejandro? Do you save these peasants, or do you save your own daughter’s future?"
