CHAPTER 3 â The Traitor in the Room

Victoria turned back to the boardroom table.
One file was missing.
The red folder.
The folder that proved Adrian wasnât working alone.
Her eyes moved slowly across the executives.
Then she smiled coldly.
âLock the doors.â
Everyone froze.
The chairman whispered, âVictoria⊠what are you doing?â
She looked at him.
âFinding the snake.â
At that moment, the lights flickered.
Every screen went black.
Then a video appeared.
It showed someone entering Victoriaâs private office at 2:13 a.m.
A man in a gray suit.
The chairman.
Gasps filled the room.
He stepped back, pale and shaking.
Victoriaâs voice was calm.
âYou helped Adrian steal from me.â
The chairman raised his hands.
âNo⊠I was protecting the company.â
âNo,â Victoria said. âYou were protecting yourself.â
Suddenly, the door opened again.
A young woman walked in holding the missing red folder.
She was Adrianâs secret daughter.
And her next words destroyed everyone.
âMy father didnât steal the companyâŠâ
May you like
âHe was trying to hide what she did first.â
Victoriaâs smile disappeared.
