CHAPTER 5 "The Billionaire Didn't Buy the Company... He Stole the Family That Built It."

The first man reached for the folder.
Nora stepped backward.
"Don't."
He smiled.
"You don't understand what you're holding."
"No," she replied quietly.
"I think I finally do."
Before he could move again, the office lights went dark.
A calm voice echoed through the hallway.
"I asked you not to touch her."
Every guard froze.
A tall man stepped into the room.
Not with bodyguards.
Not with weapons.
Only absolute confidence.
His name was Adrian Hale.
The billionaire investors called him impossible to defeat.
He glanced at Nora.
"Are you hurt?"
She shook her head.
The silver-haired executive laughed.
"So you're protecting her now?"
Adrian answered without emotion.
"No."
"I'm protecting the truth."
He opened the journal.
Inside were handwritten notes dating back thirty years.
Secret board meetings.
Forged contracts.
Witness names.
Even recordings stored on encrypted drives.
The old executive's smile vanished.
"You kept everything..."
Adrian nodded.
"I was supposed to destroy it."
"You worked for us."
"I did."
"And then I discovered who really owned the company."
Silence filled the room.
Nora stared at him.
"You knew my family?"
"I knew your father."
"My father died in an accident."
Adrian's expression hardened.
"No."
"He died because he refused to sell."
The room went silent.
Nora felt her world collapse.
Everything she believed about her family had been carefully rewritten.
Outside, police sirens grew louder.
But Adrian didn't smile.
Instead he looked toward the windows.
"They're too late."
Nora frowned.
"Why?"
"Because the person who ordered your father's murder..."
May you like
"...is already inside this building."
