CHAPTER 7 "The Funeral That Was Never Meant to Happen... Exposed a Man Everyone Trusted."

Six months passed.
For the first time in decades, Hale Industries reported every dollar openly.
Employees called Nora Bennett the CEO who actually listened.
But peace lasted exactly one afternoon.
During a charity ceremony honoring her late father, an elderly priest approached Nora with a sealed envelope.
"I was told to deliver this only after justice was served."
Inside was a handwritten note.
Do not trust the investigation. One man was never arrested.
Before Nora could ask another question, a gunshot echoed outside.
Guests screamed.
Security rushed toward the entrance.
A black sedan sped away, leaving behind only shattered glass and confusion.
No one had been hit.
It wasn't an assassination.
It was a warning.
Later that night, Adrian reviewed security footage frame by frame.
Something caught his attention.
One of the charity volunteers had deliberately turned every camera away from the entrance exactly thirty seconds before the shot.
The volunteer's face was familiar.
Adrian enlarged the image.
His expression froze.
"It can't be..."
Nora looked over his shoulder.
"Do you know him?"
Adrian nodded slowly.
"He testified at your father's funeral."
Silence filled the room.
"The problem," Adrian whispered, "is that he died eighteen years ago."
Someone was using the identity of a dead witness.
And whoever it was...
May you like
Had just declared war.
