Chapter 6 - THE SILENT PARTNER'S REVEAL
Three weeks later, as Robert awaited trial in a dingy, public-defender-assigned holding cell, he received an unexpected visitor.
He was dragged into the attorney-client visitation room in handcuffs and an orange jumpsuit. Sitting on the other side of the bulletproof glass was not an attorney, but an elderly man in an immaculate charcoal suit.
It was Harrison Vance—Arthur’s brother, Chloe’s father, and one of Wall Street's oldest billionaire patriarchs.
"Harrison!" Robert wept, pressing his hands against the glass. "Please! You have to help me! Chloe set me up! Victoria is destroying me!"
Harrison looked at Robert with profound pity and contempt. "You fool. You absolute, arrogant fool."
"What do you mean?" Robert stammered.
"Did you really think Chloe ended up in your firm by accident?" Harrison said, leaning toward the microphone. "Thirty-five years ago, Victoria's late father saved my family empire from bankruptcy. I owed him a debt I could never repay."

"When Victoria started suspecting your greed two years ago," Harrison revealed, "she asked me for help to test your loyalty. Chloe was instructed to play the role of the ambitious temptress to see if you would betray your pregnant wife for money and ego. You walked right into the trap, Robert. Every offshore account you opened, every contract you forged, was monitored and documented from day one."
