Chapter 7 - THE AUCTION OF A RUINED MAN
Two months later, the court ordered a forced liquidation of all Robert Sterling's seized personal assets to pay restitution back to Vanguard Capital.
The bankruptcy auction took place at a prestigious Manhattan gallery. Robert's collection of luxury watches, his rare sports cars, his custom artwork, and even his tailored suits were put on the bidding block.
Sitting in the front row of the auction house was Victoria, now eight and a half months pregnant, glowing with radiant health and absolute triumph. Beside her sat Arthur Vance and her top corporate team.
"Item #14," the auctioneer announced. "The 100% equity stake in Sterling Holdings LLC, including all rights to the former COO's personal royalties and property deeds."
"Starting bid at $100,000," the auctioneer called out.
Victoria raised her paddle calmly. "Five million dollars."
The room went dead silent. No one dared bid against the undisputed queen of Wall Street.
