Chapter 4 - THE GRAVE IS EMPTY

📢 VIRAL HOOK: "The Billionaire Brother Smiled At The Gun Pointed At His Chest... Then Revealed The Ultimate Betrayal!""You monster," Julian growled, his hand instinctively reaching into the desk drawer and pulling out a heavy blue-steel revolver. He pointed it directly at Marcus’s heart. "You stole five years of my life! You made me believe the woman I loved was dead!"
Marcus didn't even flinch. He slowly stepped into the room, casually shaking the water off his umbrella.
"Stole your life?" Marcus chuckled dryly. "Julian, I saved your life. Look at her!" Marcus pointed a finger dramatically at Sarah. "Look at the woman you're ready to kill your own brother for!"
"Shut up!" Julian yelled, his finger tightening on the trigger.
"Ask her, Julian!" Marcus barked, his eyes flashing with sudden rage. "Ask your precious Sarah who she was really working for five years ago! Ask her why Blackwood was developing that toxin in the first place!"
Julian turned his head slightly, keeping the gun leveled on Marcus. "Sarah? What is he talking about?"
Sarah was pale, her eyes darting between the brothers. "Julian, don't listen to him, he’s trying to manipulate you—"
"TELL HIM THE TRUTH!" Marcus roared, taking a step forward. "Tell him that Blackwood wasn't developing a biological weapon to sell to foreign governments! We were developing a cure for your terminal neurological degeneration, Julian!"
The room dropped into a suffocating silence. The sound of rain beating against the windowpane sounded like distant gunfire.
Julian’s arm wavered slightly. "What?"
Marcus stepped closer, staring straight into Julian’s eyes with a mixture of pity and resentment. "Five years ago, you were diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease, Julian. You had six months to live. Sarah was our lead scientist. She didn't invent that toxin to whistleblow—she created an experimental neural-preservation serum to freeze your brain degradation until we could find a permanent cure!"
Julian felt his knees buckle. "No... no, that's impossible. I'm fine. I've been fine!"
"Because the serum WORKS!" Marcus shouted. "But it had a fatal side effect! The trial required a living host's neural template to stabilize the carrier protein! Sarah volunteered herself as the carrier!"
Marcus pointed a shaking finger at Sarah. "She didn't die, Julian! She willingly put herself into a medically induced coma for three years to keep you alive! But when she woke up... she took the research, she took the child, and she ran away with millions of dollars from our family trust!"
Julian stared at Sarah, his world shattering into a million jagged pieces for the second time in an hour. "Sarah... is this true?"

Sarah lowered her head. Tears dripped onto her coat.
"Yes," she whispered softly. "It’s true."
