Chapter 5 - THE SHADOW'S ULTIMATUM

📢 VIRAL HOOK: "She Sacrificed Her Humanity To Save Him... But The Child Was Never Theirs!"Julian felt like he was drowning in air. The gun trembled in his grip, pointing uselessly at the rug.

"You... you did all of this to save me?" Julian gasped, looking at Sarah. "Then why run? Why hide from me for two years after waking up? Why send this little girl to find me today?!"

Sarah looked up, her expression transformed from fear to grim determination.

"Because Marcus left out the final chapter of the story, Julian," Sarah said, her voice turning cold as ice. She walked over to the desk where the USB drives lay among the ash. "He didn't just use my neural template to save your life. He realized that the stabilized carrier protein was the most valuable biological asset in the world. It pauses aging and neural decay indefinitely."

She turned to face Marcus. "You didn't want to cure Julian. You wanted to patent me. You kept me hooked to a life-support grid in an underground lab for three years, harvesting my stem cells and selling them to the highest bidders on the black market!"

Marcus’s smirk vanished. His jaw tightened.

"I escaped two years ago," Sarah continued, turning back to Julian with tears streaming down her face. "And I took the only thing that mattered from that laboratory."

She reached down, gently touching the shoulder of the small girl sitting quietly in the corner.

"Lily isn't just our daughter, Julian," Sarah wept. "She’s a clone... born in that laboratory using my genetic structure and yours. She is the only living entity on Earth whose blood contains the stable, unmutated synthetic antibody. She is the cure to every degenerative disease known to man."

Marcus’s guard drew his sidearm, aiming it directly at Sarah’s forehead.

"Enough of the tear-jerking theater," Marcus spat, his refined demeanor evaporating completely. "Hand over the child and the drives, Sarah. Or Julian dies right here, right now, from the neural shutdown signal I can trigger with this remote in my pocket."

Marcus pulled a small black transmitter from his coat, his thumb resting on a red button.

"One click, Julian," Marcus sneered. "And the neural synthetic inside your brain short-circuits. You'll be brain-dead before you hit the rug."
