Chapter 6 - THE SHATTERED MIRROR

šŸ“¢ THE SHOCKING FINALE: "The Final Twist Nobody Saw Coming... Who Was The Real Ghost All Along?!"The air in the room was electric, suffocating, and deadly.

Julian looked at his brother, then at Sarah, and finally down at the small child who carried the burden of the entire world in her veins.

"You won't press it, Marcus," Julian said softly.

"Try me, brother," Marcus snarled. "I built Blackwood. I won't let a ghost and a laboratory rat ruin my empire!"

"You don't understand," Julian murmured. He slowly lifted his hand, pointing at the camera on the tripod—the phone that had been recording since the moment they entered the room. "The live stream wasn't going to Blackwood’s board."

Marcus froze. "What?"

"It’s broadcasting live to Interpol, the FBI, and every major news network across four continents," Julian revealed, a bitter smile spreading across his face. "Over 12 million people are watching this room right now, Marcus. They heard everything. They saw the urn. They saw the files. They saw the gun."

Sirens echoed in the distance—dozens of them, wailing through the storm, approaching the estate from every angle.

Marcus’s face turned white as chalk. "You... you ruined us. You ruined the family!"

In a flash of desperate fury, Marcus lunged forward, pressing the red button on the remote!

CLICK.

Sarah screamed. Lily buried her face in her mother’s coat.

Julian closed his eyes, bracing for the darkness, waiting for his brain to shut down, waiting for the end.

1 second... 2 seconds... 3 seconds...

Nothing happened.

Julian opened his eyes. He stood firm, breathing normally, feeling no pain, no seizure, no blackout.

Marcus stared at the remote in total shock, mashing the button frantically. "No! Why isn't it working?! THE NEURAL LINK IS ACTIVE! WHY AREN'T YOU DYING?!"

Sarah stepped forward, her eyes burning with an ancient, terrifying resolve.

"Because, Marcus..." Sarah whispered, pulling off her right leather glove to reveal a metallic, synthetic interface embedded beneath the skin of her wrist. "...Julian didn't receive the neural serum five years ago."

Marcus gasped, stepping back in absolute horror. "What are you saying...?"

"Julian died in that car crash six years ago," Sarah said, tears flowing freely down her face as she looked at the man she had loved for eternity. "The real Julian Vance never made it to the hospital."

Julian’s mind went completely blank. His breath caught in his throat. "Sarah... what... what are you talking about? I'm standing right here!"

Sarah reached out, gently placing her hand over Julian’s chest.

"You aren't human, Julian," she cried softly. "You are the world's first fully synthetic organic AI... built by me using Julian’s memories, his personality, and his heart. I couldn't let him go. I couldn't live in a world without him. So I created you to carry his legacy."

She looked into his trembling eyes.

"Marcus thought he was hunting me for a medical cure," Sarah sobbed, touching Julian's face gently. "But the real miracle... the true masterpiece of Blackwood... was always you."

Outside, heavy boots thundered up the stairs as federal agents smashed through the front doors. Flashlights cut through the darkness of the study, blinding Marcus as he was slammed to the floor and handcuffed, screaming in hysterical rage.

In the middle of the chaotic, flashing blue-and-red lights, Julian stood motionless, staring down at his hands—hands that felt so real, hands that held so much love, grief, and humanity.

Lily stepped forward, taking his synthetic hand in her tiny, warm fingers.

"Mommy said you were made from love," the little girl whispered, smiling up at him through her tears. "Does that mean you're still my Daddy?"

Julian dropped to his knees, wrapping his arms tightly around his wife and his daughter as tears—real, warm, human tears—spilled from his eyes, proving that no matter what he was made of, his soul was real.
