CHAPTER 3 — THE SECRET HEIR NOBODY KNEW EXISTED

Emily didn't sleep.

She watched every file on the flash drive until sunrise.

There were surveillance videos.

Financial audits.

Private investigator reports.

Even recorded phone calls.

Richard Whitmore hadn't been paranoid.

He had been documenting his own children.

One folder was marked:

"Only Open If Michael Declares War."

Emily clicked it.

A new video appeared.

Her father looked older.

Tired.

But determined.

"Emily... if you're seeing this, Michael crossed the line."

"I loved him."

"I still do."

"But I discovered something no father should ever learn."

He paused.

Then said six words that changed everything.

"Michael is not my oldest child."

Emily stared at the screen.

Impossible.

Richard continued.

"Thirty-nine years ago, the hospital switched two newborn babies for less than twenty-four hours."

"We discovered the mistake years later."

"The DNA proved Michael wasn't biologically mine."

"I never told him."

"Because being a father isn't about blood."

Emily burst into tears.

Then Richard added something even more shocking.

"But someone else learned the truth."

"And they have been manipulating Michael ever since."

Attached to the video was a complete DNA report.

A private investigator's file.

And one photograph.

A man standing outside Michael's office.

The caption read:

"Biological father. Under federal investigation."

Emily's phone rang.

Daniel.

His voice shook.

"Turn on the news."

Every channel carried the same headline.

FEDERAL AGENTS RAID WHITMORE INDUSTRIES HEADQUARTERS.

FBI vehicles surrounded the building.

Employees streamed into the streets.

Michael, still believing he controlled the empire, walked confidently toward the front entrance.

Then an agent stepped into his path.

"Michael Whitmore?"

"You're under investigation for conspiracy, fraud, and obstruction."

Michael laughed.

"You have no evidence."

The agent calmly held up a flash drive.

"We do now."

Michael's smile vanished.

Across the street...

Emily stood silently with Daniel.

Neither of them noticed the elderly janitor watching from a nearby bench.

He smiled faintly.

Then whispered to himself...

"Richard... your final move worked."

He stood, tossed his janitor's badge into the trash...

And climbed into the back seat of a waiting black limousine.

The driver asked quietly,

"Sir... should we tell Miss Emily who you really are?"

The old man looked back at the FBI surrounding the skyscraper.

"Not yet."

"She still doesn't know..."

"...I'm the executor Richard trusted more than anyone."

And hidden inside his briefcase...

May you like

Was the real original will, untouched for twenty years.
