CHAPTER 3 – The Stranger Named in the Will

Three days later, Ethan Hayes stood outside his mother’s mansion in the rain.
For the first time in his life, the guards would not let him in.
“Sir,” one guard said coldly, “Madam Eleanor left strict instructions.”
Ethan clenched his fists.
“I’m her son.”
The guard looked at him.
“Not according to the new will.”
Ethan’s heart dropped.
At that moment, a black car pulled up. A young woman stepped out, holding the hand of a little boy with bright blue eyes.
Ethan froze.
The child looked exactly like him.
Victoria, standing behind Ethan, whispered, “Who is that?”
The woman lifted her chin.
“My name is Grace Miller.”
Ethan’s face went pale.
Grace was the poor waitress he had abandoned eight years ago when she told him she was pregnant.
The mansion doors opened.
Eleanor’s lawyer appeared.
“Madam Hayes has named her grandson as the new heir.”
Victoria screamed.
“Grandson?”
The little boy looked at Ethan and asked softly,
“Mommy... is that the man who didn’t want me?”
Ethan couldn’t breathe.
