CHAPTER 2 – The Secret Inside the Music Box

Ethan had barely reached the front gate when an elderly man stepped out of a black limousine.
He wasn't dressed like a guest.
He wasn't family.
Yet every security guard instantly lowered their heads.
"Mr. Harrison..."
The old man looked at Ethan with trembling eyes.
"You still have it..."
Ethan nodded and handed him the wooden music box.
"I promised Mom I'd never lose it."
Harrison slowly opened it.
Inside wasn't jewelry.
There wasn't any money.
Only an old family photograph...
...and a tiny silver key.
Vanessa laughed.
"That's the treasure? A worthless toy?"
But Harrison's face turned pale.
He looked directly at Richard.
"You fool."
Richard frowned.
"What are you talking about?"
Harrison pulled a folded document from beneath the hidden compartment.
It was a sealed agreement signed twenty years earlier.
Richard's late wife had secretly purchased 51% of Whitmore Global Holdings through an anonymous trust.
The legal heir...
Was not Richard.
It was Ethan.
Silence swallowed the mansion.
Vanessa's champagne glass slipped from her hand and shattered across the marble floor.
Richard grabbed the papers.
"No... this can't be real!"
"It is," Harrison replied calmly.
"Your wife knew someone would betray her. She left everything to the only person she trusted."
Then Harrison smiled at Ethan.
"From this moment on... every person inside this mansion works for you."
The guests stared at the little boy in disbelief.
The child they had ignored...
The child they had thrown out into the snow...
Had just become the richest person in the room.
But then Ethan quietly asked one heartbreaking question.
"If Mom knew this would happen..."
"...why did she tell me never to tell Dad until Christmas?"
Harrison closed his eyes.
"Because she knew someone in this house wasn't responsible for her death..."
"...they caused it."
Richard's face instantly turned white.

And upstairs...
Someone secretly deleted security footage from the night Ethan's mother died.
