CHAPTER 4 – The Dead Woman's Final Trap

The ballroom fell into absolute silence.
Every guest stared at Amelia as if they had seen a ghost.
Richard's lips trembled.
"I buried you..."
Amelia smiled sadly.
"No, Richard."
"You buried an empty coffin."
Gasps echoed through the mansion.
Vanessa stumbled backward.
"That's impossible..."
Amelia slowly walked toward Ethan and wrapped him in the hug he had dreamed about for years.
"I'm sorry, sweetheart."
"I had to let the whole world believe I was dead."
Tears streamed down Ethan's face.
"I knew you'd come back."
Richard dropped to his knees.
"Why? Why would you disappear?"
Amelia looked directly into his eyes.
"Because the people trying to kill me were living inside my own home."
She snapped her fingers.
Harrison nodded to the security team.
Within seconds, dozens of police officers entered the ballroom.
No one could leave.
Vanessa suddenly screamed.
"You have no proof!"
Amelia smiled.
"I've been collecting proof for three years."
Another video appeared on the giant screen.
This time, it wasn't security footage.
It was a secret recording from Vanessa's own phone.
Everyone heard her voice clearly.
"Once Amelia dies, Richard inherits everything. Then I'll marry him... and after that, he'll have an accident too."
The room erupted.
Richard looked at Vanessa in horror.
"You... planned to kill me too?"
Vanessa's silence was all the answer he needed.
But Amelia wasn't finished.
"There was never just one traitor."
She turned slowly toward the crowd.
Her eyes stopped on Richard's younger brother...
Daniel Whitmore.
Daniel's face instantly turned pale.
"You've been stealing millions from Whitmore Global while helping Vanessa poison me."
Daniel laughed nervously.
"You can't prove that."
Amelia reached into the music box.
Hidden beneath the silver key was a tiny memory card.
"The accounting records... every bank transfer... every phone call..."
"...your entire betrayal has been inside Ethan's music box all along."
Daniel suddenly pulled out a pistol.
"If I can't have the company..."
May you like
"...no one will."
The guests screamed as he aimed the gun directly at Ethan.
