CHAPTER 5 – The Boy Who Saved the Billionaire

Daniel's finger tightened on the trigger.
The pistol was aimed straight at Ethan's heart.
The terrified guests dropped to the floor.
Someone screamed.
"He's going to kill the boy!"
Richard reacted without thinking.
"Ethan!"
He threw himself in front of his son just as the gun fired.
BANG!
The bullet struck Richard in the shoulder.
He collapsed onto the marble floor.
Blood spread across his white tuxedo.
For the first time in years...
Ethan ran toward his father.
"Dad!"
Richard looked at the frightened little boy through tears.
"I'm... so sorry."
"I chose money over my own son."
"I don't deserve your forgiveness."
Before Ethan could answer...
Daniel grabbed Vanessa and dragged her toward the back exit.
"We're leaving!"
But Harrison had expected it.
The mansion doors slammed shut automatically.
Steel security barriers dropped over every entrance.
Daniel cursed.
"You planned this?"
Amelia nodded.
"I rebuilt this mansion after I disappeared."
"Every hallway..."
"Every camera..."
"Every door..."
"...was designed for tonight."
Daniel fired again.
This time, the bullet shattered a crystal chandelier.
Thousands of glass shards rained down.
Guests screamed and scattered in every direction.
Daniel disappeared into the darkness.
For a moment...
No one knew where he had gone.
Then Ethan noticed something no one else did.
A tiny red laser dot...
Slowly moving across Amelia's chest.
"Mom!"
He shoved her aside with all his strength.
BANG!
The sniper's bullet missed Amelia by inches and exploded through a marble pillar instead.
Silence.
Everyone looked toward the rooftop.
There, dressed entirely in black, stood a masked sniper.
He wasn't aiming at Ethan.
He wasn't aiming at Richard.
He was aiming only at Amelia.
The sniper lowered his rifle...
Then spoke through a voice changer that echoed across the mansion.
"You should have stayed dead."
Before anyone could stop him...
He jumped off the roof.
Not to escape...
But onto a waiting helicopter that vanished into the night.
As the sound of the blades faded away...
Harrison stared at the sky, his face drained of color.
May you like
He whispered six chilling words.
"The real mastermind has finally arrived."
