CHAPTER 6 — The Final Betrayal

Victoria couldn't accept it.
Everything she had planned...
The mansion.
The private jets.
The fortune.
Gone.
That night...
she secretly entered Alexander's office.
She searched every drawer.
Then she found it.
Emily's flash drive.
A smile appeared on her face.
"Finally."
She copied every file.
But as she turned around...
Noah stood in the doorway.
"You shouldn't touch my mom's things."
Victoria forced a smile.
"I'm helping your father."
"No."
"You're stealing."
Victoria stepped closer.
"You have no idea who you're talking to."
Noah calmly replied,
"I do."
"You're the woman who paid someone to follow my mom."
Victoria's face drained of color.
Alexander had just entered behind her.
"What did he say?"
Noah looked directly at Victoria.
"I saw you."
"Three years ago."
"You came to our apartment."
"You offered my mom fifty million dollars to disappear forever."
Victoria's lips trembled.
"He's lying."
Before she could finish...
Rebecca walked in holding a tablet.
"We recovered security footage."
She pressed Play.
The room fell silent.
There was Victoria.
Standing outside Emily's apartment.
Handing a black briefcase to a man.
Timestamp:
Three years earlier.
Victoria slowly backed away.
"It wasn't supposed to happen like this..."
Alexander stared at the woman he had planned to marry.
"You knew Emily was alive."
Victoria burst into tears.
"I was protecting us!"
"No..."
Alexander answered coldly.
"You were protecting yourself."
Rebecca stepped forward.
"Victoria Hale..."
"You're under arrest for conspiracy, witness intimidation, evidence tampering, and attempted murder."
As agents placed her in handcuffs...
Victoria screamed one final sentence.
"You fools!"
"You still don't know who Emily is working for!"
The room fell silent.
Rebecca frowned.
"What does that mean?"
At that exact moment...
every television in the mansion suddenly switched on by itself.
Emily appeared live on every screen.
Not frightened.
Not hiding.
She was standing inside a massive glass skyscraper overlooking Manhattan.
Behind her...
dozens of executives stood and applauded.
Emily smiled directly into the camera.
"Hello, Alex."
"It's time you learned..."
"...I was never running away."
"I was building something far bigger than the Whitmore empire."
And behind her...
the logo of the world's largest investment company slowly lit up.
Alexander whispered only one sentence.
May you like
"My God..."
"Emily owns everything."
