CHAPTER 6 — The Final Trap

Marcus knew the people behind the conspiracy would never surrender voluntarily.

"They've already falsified medical records, staged a death, and attempted murder inside a hospital," he said. "Desperate people make desperate mistakes."

So they prepared a trap.

The police quietly leaked false information through channels they knew the conspirators were monitoring.

The story claimed investigators had recovered Emilia's missing flash drive and scheduled a secret transfer of the evidence to federal prosecutors.

It was a lie.

There was no flash drive.

Not yet.

Late that night, an armored police vehicle left the courthouse under heavy escort.

Exactly as Marcus predicted, three black SUVs began following it.

Within minutes, masked gunmen attempted to intercept the convoy on an isolated stretch of highway.

They never reached the vehicle.

Hidden tactical officers surrounded them from every direction.

The entire ambush had been staged.

Several suspects surrendered immediately.

Others tried to flee into nearby woods before being captured.

Among those arrested was the hospital chairman himself.

Faced with overwhelming evidence, one conspirator agreed to cooperate.

His testimony shocked investigators.

The missing flash drive had never left Daniel's house.

The thieves couldn't find it because Emilia had hidden it inside the stuffed teddy bear she had bought for Grace before she was born.

Daniel rushed home.

He carefully opened the teddy bear's stitched seam.

Inside was a tiny waterproof capsule.

And inside the capsule...

The encrypted flash drive.

It contained years of financial records, secret payments, falsified medical reports, surveillance backups, and recorded conversations proving every detail of the conspiracy.

The evidence destroyed the entire criminal network.

Weeks later, Emilia, Daniel, and baby Grace finally returned home together.

As Daniel placed the teddy bear back into the nursery crib, Emilia smiled through tears.

"They thought they were burning our future that day."

Daniel kissed Grace's forehead.

"They almost did."

"But love noticed what everyone else ignored."

Outside, the morning sun rose over a house that had nearly become a place of mourning—but instead became the place where justice began.
