CHAPTER 6: The Society of the Raven

The black feather was carefully sealed as evidence.

No fingerprints.

No DNA.

Nothing.

Only a tiny silver symbol burned into the shaft.

A raven with its wings spread.

Daniel immediately searched international databases.

Ten minutes later...

His face turned pale.

"I've seen this before."

Alexander looked up.

"Where?"

Daniel swallowed.

"In classified files."

"The Raven Society."

Silence.

Sophia frowned.

"What's that?"

Daniel hesitated.

"They officially don't exist."

"They're rumored to be a secret organization that manipulates governments, corporations, and billionaires from behind the scenes."

"They don't steal companies."

"They create kings..."

"...and destroy them."

Alexander slowly remembered something.

Years ago...

His father had once warned him.

"If you ever see a raven where it shouldn't be... run."

At the time, Alexander thought it was only a strange joke.

Now...

It sounded like a prophecy.

Meanwhile...

Thousands of miles away...

Inside an abandoned monastery hidden in the mountains...

A long wooden table stretched through a candlelit hall.

Twelve figures sat in silence.

Each wore a black mask.

At the head of the table sat one man.

Unlike the others...

He wore no mask.

Instead...

A live raven rested calmly on his shoulder.

He smiled as he watched footage of the failed assassination.

Rich appeared on the screen.

The man chuckled softly.

"So..."

"The dog ruined twenty-four years of planning."

One masked member spoke.

"Should we eliminate the animal first?"

The leader shook his head.

"No."

"I want the billionaire to watch his greatest friend die..."

"...before he loses everything else."

The room fell silent.

Then all twelve members raised their hands together.

"The final phase begins."

Back in New York...

Alexander ordered every member of his security team to undergo another background investigation.

One by one...

Every employee was questioned.

Nothing unusual.

Until they reached the mansion's oldest servant.

Eighty-two-year-old Martha Collins.

She had worked for the Grant family since before Alexander was born.

She had changed his diapers.

Read him bedtime stories.

She was practically family.

Daniel gently asked,

"Mrs. Collins..."

"Have you ever heard of the Raven Society?"

The old woman's teacup slipped from her hands.

It shattered across the floor.

Her entire body began trembling.

"No..."

She whispered.

"They finally found you."

Alexander knelt beside her.

"You know something."

Tears rolled down Martha's wrinkled face.

"I promised your father..."

"...I would never tell."

Alexander held her hand.

"Tell me now."

She looked directly into his eyes.

"The fire..."

"...wasn't meant to kill Ethan."

"It was meant to kill..."

She suddenly stopped speaking.

Her eyes widened.

A tiny red dot appeared on her forehead.

Daniel shouted,

"DOWN!"

CRACK!

The sniper's bullet exploded through the mansion window.

Glass flew everywhere.

Chaos erupted.

When the dust settled...

Martha lay motionless.

Alexander crawled toward her.

She was still breathing.

Barely.

With her final strength...

She whispered six heartbreaking words into his ear.

"Your mother saved the wrong child..."

Her hand fell limp.

She was gone.

Alexander stared into space.

His entire world collapsed.

If Martha was telling the truth...

Then one impossible question remained.

Was Alexander really Alexander Grant...

...or had the brothers been switched on the night of the fire?

Outside the shattered window...

Rich barked furiously toward the distant hills.

Hidden in the darkness...

A lone raven took flight.

Someone had been watching the mansion all along.

And for the first time...

Alexander realized the nightmare wasn't about money.

It wasn't even about revenge.

It was about identity.

And someone intended to erase his forever.

END OF CHAPTER 6...

The biggest twist is still to come: if Alexander isn't who he believes he is, then who inherited the Grant empire... and who has been living under a stolen name for the last twenty-four years?
