CHAPTER 6 — "The Woman Behind Every Lie Finally Stepped Out of the Shadows..."

The lights went out.

Darkness swallowed the mansion.

Emergency alarms echoed through every hallway.

Security guards raced toward the archive room.

By the time power returned...

The safe stood open.

Half the files were gone.

One guard lay unconscious on the floor.

Another whispered only one sentence before paramedics carried him away.

"It was... a woman."

Richard immediately reviewed every security camera.

Most had been disabled.

Except one.

A single hallway camera captured five blurry seconds.

A woman wearing black gloves.

Silver high heels.

A familiar diamond bracelet.

Emily froze.

"I've seen that bracelet."

Richard looked closer.

His face hardened.

"So have I."

It belonged to Victoria.

Police searched her luxury penthouse before sunrise.

She was gone.

Her closets were empty.

Her passports missing.

Private investigators soon uncovered a shocking discovery.

Victoria hadn't fled alone.

She had secretly met Edward dozens of times over the past decade.

Together they had created offshore companies.

Hidden trusts.

Fake charities.

Everything pointed to one terrifying conclusion.

They had been planning to seize Ashford Global long before Emily appeared.

But another surprise was waiting.

That evening, the elderly man from the cemetery arrived at the mansion again.

"My name is Samuel Brooks," he said quietly.

"I served with Sarah's father in the Army."

He placed a small wooden box onto Richard's desk.

"I promised Sarah I would protect this until the right time."

Inside were dozens of cassette tapes.

Family photographs.

A child's bracelet.

And one videotape labeled only:

"If Richard Ever Learns The Truth."

Everyone gathered around the old television.

The recording flickered to life.

Sarah appeared.

She looked exhausted.

Thin.

But smiling.

"If you're watching this..."

"...then Emily found you."

Richard broke down instantly.

Sarah continued.

"I forgave you years ago because I knew..."

"...you never abandoned us willingly."

Emily squeezed her father's hand.

Then Sarah's expression suddenly changed.

"There is one last thing I never dared write in a letter."

"I recognized the woman who came to threaten me."

"It wasn't your father."

"It was Victoria."

"She told me that if I ever contacted Richard again..."

"...my daughter would disappear forever."

The tape ended.

Silence filled the room.

Richard slowly stood.

His grief had transformed into something far more dangerous.

Resolve.

He looked directly at the investigators.

"I don't care how long it takes."

"I want Victoria and Edward found."

"They stole twenty-five years from my daughter."

"They won't steal another day."

None of them realized...

Victoria wasn't running anymore.

She was already planning her next move.

And this time...

She intended to erase every witness forever.
