Chapter 8 - The Oceanview Legacy

Two months later, Lucas and Florence stood on the sweeping stone terrace of the Oceanview Estate.

The twelve-million-dollar cliffside mansion was breathtaking. Waves crashed against the jagged rocks hundreds of feet below, and the salty ocean breeze carried the crisp scent of pine and saltwater. The sprawling gardens were bathed in golden evening sunlight.

Florence sat comfortably in a motorized wheelchair, wrapped in a luxurious cashmere blanket, looking out over the endless expanse of the blue ocean.

Lucas walked up beside her, holding two cups of hot coffee. He handed one to his mother and leaned against the stone railing, taking a deep breath of the fresh coastal air.

“It’s hard to believe this place belongs to us, Mom,” Lucas said softly.

Florence smiled, turning the heavy brass key over in her palm. “Your grandfather built this house with his own hands decades before he lost his way. He wanted it to be a fortress for our family—a place where no one could ever make us feel small, or hungry, or invisible again.”

She looked up at her son, her eyes filled with profound pride.

“And you, Lucas... you didn't just save me from the dark. You proved that loyalty, courage, and true love are worth more than all the stolen fortunes in the world.”

Lucas smiled, wrapping his arm around his mother’s shoulder as the sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the sky in brilliant shades of amber, violet, and gold.

The nightmare with Gwendolyn and Arthur was locked away in a prison cell where it belonged. The shadows of the past had finally been washed away by the tide.

And as they stood together on the cliffs of Oceanview, looking out toward a bright, unclouded future, Lucas knew that whatever came next, they would face it together—unbroken, unyielding, and forever home.
