Chapter 15 - The Confrontation at the Mansion

On Sunday evening, two days before the scheduled shareholder vote, Gavin crossed the line.
He drove up the long, gated driveway of Cassandra’s Bethesda estate in a dark private limousine. Ignoring the private security guards at the gate, he stepped onto the front porch and demanded to see his sons.
Cassandra opened the front door herself. Behind her, in the warm light of the foyer, Nolan and Parker stood at the top of the staircase. They didn't look at their father with affection or longing; they looked at him as if he were an unwelcome stranger.
"Get off my property, Gavin," Cassandra said, her voice steady as iron.
"I have supervised visitation rights, Cassandra!" Gavin shouted, stepping closer. "And once Sterling Apex takes your company on Tuesday, I will have the financial leverage to prove in court that you are an unfit, mentally unstable mother who isolated my boys!"
Parker, now ten years old, walked down two steps and spoke clearly into the night: "We don't want to go with you, dad. You hurt Mom, and you lied to everyone."

Gavin flinched as if struck. Before he could respond, Cassandra stepped outside and pulled the heavy oak door shut behind her.
"Walk away, Gavin," she whispered. "Because on Tuesday, I am going to end you permanently."
