Chapter 2 - The Trap Set Thirteen Years Ago

Cassandra stood quietly at her table, her hands neatly folded. She didn't gloat. She didn't smile. She simply watched the collapse of the man who had spent a decade convincing the world—and himself—that she was merely a silent dependent living on his generosity.

Thirteen years ago, when Gavin was an ambitious young logistics manager with big promises and empty pockets, Cassandra had already developed the core predictive algorithm that would revolutionize regional fleet transport. She had built the code, secured the patents under her maiden name, and established the master holding structure.

When Gavin proposed, he had demanded an ironclad prenup prepared by his own aggressive attorneys, desperate to ensure that "his" budding enterprise would never be touched if things went sour. Cassandra had listened quietly, signed the agreement without making a scene, and let him rename the operational arm Rourke Regional Mobility for public relations purposes.

She had allowed him to play the visionary CEO while she quietly retained absolute, non-dilutable control of the parent entity that licensed every piece of tech his company used to operate.

"Your Honor," Cassandra’s quiet voice broke the courtroom silence. "Every contract Rourke Regional Mobility signed over the last decade relies on a proprietary software license granted by C.V. Vance Enterprises. That license agreement expired thirty days ago. I declined to renew it."

Philip Dane dropped his pen. It clattered loudly against the wooden table. "You... you can't shut down the company!"

"I am not shutting down my company," Cassandra replied evenly. "I am simply revoking the operational lease from Mr. Rourke."
