Chapter 17 - The Annual Shareholders Meeting

On Tuesday morning at nine o’clock, the grand auditorium at the Bethesda Convention Center was packed with over five hundred investors, journalists, and financial analysts.

Harrison Sterling, Gavin Rourke, and Sloane Pierce walked down the central aisle like conquering heroes. Gavin wore a wide, triumphant smirk, nodding to television cameras as he took his seat at the front row reserved for major equity holders.

When Cassandra walked onto the main stage, the room fell into a tense hush. She wore an immaculate white suit, looking serene and completely unfazed by the storm surrounding her.

Harrison Sterling stood up immediately, holding a microphone. "Your Honor—pardon me, Madam Chairwoman," Sterling sneered arrogantly. "As the representative of Sterling Apex Capital, holding forty-eight point seven percent of total voting stock, I move to immediately dissolve the current board and terminate Cassandra Bellamy as CEO!"
