“Consulting services provided by a twenty-nine-year-old brand strategist with zero background in infrastructure logistics?” Evelyn asked softly, tilting her head. “How remarkable that Sabrina Cole possesses such versatile talents.”
Ethan’s eyes widened in sheer horror. He looked from Evelyn to Arthur, and back to Evelyn.
“You... you knew?” he breathed out, the words barely audible. “You knew about Sabrina?”
“I knew the moment the first anonymous photograph arrived three weeks ago,” Evelyn replied, her voice steady and unyielding. “I simply waited for you to document your own corporate suicide. You see, Ethan, my father always taught me that a clever enemy will eventually hand you the rope. All you have to do is hold the ladder.”
