Six months later, the Fitzgerald-Pascale Neurological Institute was officially inaugurated. State officials, prominent Boston doctors, and local civic leaders filled the grand auditorium. But sitting in the front row, wearing a tailored black suit and a quiet, commanding presence, was the man who had funded it all.

I stood at the podium, adjusting the microphone as I looked out over the crowded room. My parents sat near the back, tears of pride shining in their eyes—they still believed the clinic was funded by an anonymous philanthropic grant, and it was a secret Massimo and I intended to keep forever.

“Neurological recovery isn't just about repairing damaged tissue,” I spoke into the microphone, my voice clear and steady echoing through the hall. “It’s about rebuilding the human will. It’s about finding strength when every instinct tells you to stay down.”
