Men in dark tactical gear swarmed the sleek private jet just as a handcuffed man in an expensive tailored suit was forced down the metal steps, his head ducked low beneath a dark trench coat, desperately trying to shield his face from the flashing cameras of the world he thought he had successfully escaped.
Adrian Vance was finally cornered, exposed, and stripped of everything he had stolen, manipulated, and built upon a mountain of deceit.
In the diner booth beside me, Lily leaned her head against my shoulder, finally looking relaxed, her small fingers wrapped securely around her stuffed rabbit.
