Chapter 6 - The Unlikely Alliance"I'll sign," I said, my voice trembling. I took the pen. But as I pressed the tip to the paper, a deafening fire alarm echoed through the police precinct.

Red lights flashed. Sprinklers erupted from the ceiling, drenching the corrupt lawyer and ruining the contract in seconds.
In the chaos, the cell door electronically popped open. A figure in a soaked police uniform grabbed my arm. It was Paula.
"Julieta hacked the precinct's mainframe from the hotel," Paula shouted over the alarms. "She got you arrested on purpose to get you out of the hotel safely! Your brothers had snipers on the roof!"
We sprinted out the back exit into a waiting black SUV. Julieta was behind the wheel, furiously typing on a laptop mounted to the dashboard.
"I have the Volkov syndicate's location," Julieta said, slamming her laptop shut and hitting the gas. "They're finalizing the sale on a private yacht at the harbor. We have exactly forty-five minutes before midnight."
"What about my boys?" I demanded.
Paula loaded a 9mm pistol in the passenger seat. "My FBI contact traced your mother's burner phone. She has them at the harbor. They are using the boys as collateral for the mob."
"Then we don't just stop the sale," I said, my blood turning to ice. "We sink the ship."

Julieta handed me a military-grade drone controller from the backseat. "I bought some toys with your black card, darling. Let's go crash a party."
The harbor loomed ahead, shrouded in fog, but the yacht was lit up like a floating fortress.
