Chapter 6 - THE SHOCKING REVELATION AT THE BANKING BOARDThe emergency hearing of the State Banking Commission was packed to the doors. Journalists, financial analysts, and corporate executives filled every available seat in the grand amphitheater.

At the center podium stood Arthur Sterling, opening a heavy mahogany briefcase.
In the front row, shackled and flanked by federal marshals, sat Christopher and Victoria Vance, forced to watch their final humiliation play out in public.
"Members of the board," Arthur’s voice boomed through the sound system. "We are here today to formalize the complete asset transfer of Vance Global Logistics, the Victoria Medical Group, and all associated offshore holding accounts to the sole legal beneficiary: Mrs. Margaret Vance."
A murmur rippled through the crowd of reporters. Flashbulbs blinded the room.
One of the board members, a pompous senior director who had long protected Christopher’s illicit business dealings, slammed his hand on the desk. "This is an unprecedented corporate hostile takeover! Under what legal precedent does an individual acquire multi-million-dollar conglomerates overnight without a corporate vote?!"
Arthur didn't even flinch. He pulled out a thick, yellowed ledger signed by the state’s founding banking commissioner twenty-five years ago.
"Under the charter of the Vance Foundation & Reserve, established on the day this bank was chartered," Arthur declared, holding the document high. "You see, gentlemen, Christopher and Victoria believed they inherited their father’s wealth. But David Vance never owned the bank—he founded it. And the controlling shares were never placed in a corporate trust. They were locked in a personal contingency vault registered under one name only."
Arthur paused, letting the silence build in the grand hall.
"Margaret Vance."
In the back of the room, the heavy oak doors swung open.
The crowd parted. Walking down the center aisle was Margaret Vance. She wore a tailored midnight-blue coat, her silver hair neatly pinned, leaning slightly on her cane, but walking with the absolute grace and authority of a queen reclaiming her throne.

Behind her walked Patrick and Samantha, dressed in clean, sharp new clothes, holding their little boy Samuel—who was smiling brightly, completely recovered thanks to the medical care Patrick could now afford.
The entire amphitheater rose to their feet in absolute silence, watching the woman the banking world had forgotten step up to the podium.
