The arrests began before sunrise.

Executives.
Private security officers.

News helicopters circled overhead.

Charles Davenport.
Whitmore Industries' Chief Financial Officer.
He had vanished twelve hours earlier.
Investigators believed he had fled the country.
They were wrong.
Late that evening, Alexander insisted on returning briefly to the estate to retrieve a family photograph from his late parents' library.
Against Marcus's advice, he entered the mansion with a small police escort.
The house was silent.
Almost too silent.

A slow clap echoed from the shadows.
Charles Davenport stepped into the light, holding a pistol.

Alexander stared at him.

Charles laughed bitterly.
"You inherited everything."

Emily instinctively stepped in front of Alexander.
Charles pointed the gun at her.
"You..."
"...one compassionate nurse..."
"...destroyed ten years of planning."
Before he could pull the trigger—
A single shot echoed through the library.
Charles looked down in disbelief.
The gun slipped from his hand.
Behind him stood Detective Marcus Reed.
Charles collapsed to the floor as officers rushed in and secured the room.
The conspiracy was finally over.
Six months later, Alexander officially returned as CEO of Whitmore Industries.
His first decision stunned Wall Street.
He sold his private mansion, donated hundreds of millions to hospitals, and created a nationwide scholarship program for nurses entering critical-care medicine.
At the dedication ceremony, reporters asked why he had invested so much in nursing.
Alexander smiled and looked toward Emily, standing quietly beside Liam in the crowd.
"They kept telling me money saved lives."
