Chapter 7 - The Final Awakening

With the final signature executed, Valeria took a deep, liberating breath. The heavy burden she had carried for nine grueling months dissolved into the crisp, cool air of the morning.
"Thank you, Alejandro," Valeria said quietly. "Your court-ordered supervised visitation rights for Mateo will begin in six months, provided you complete psychiatric evaluation and maintain stable living conditions. Goodbye."
She turned on her heel and walked toward the glass doors of the conference room, her heels clicking rhythmically on the marble floor. Mr. Garza followed close behind, holding the signed documents securely inside his briefcase.
Alejandro remained seated at the head of the long table, staring out the floor-to-ceiling windows at the smog-covered skyline of Mexico City. Everything he had ever strived for—the towers, the money, the clout—was gone. He was an empty man in an empty room, surrounded by glass that reflected only his own utter failure.
Valeria walked out of the corporate tower into the bright sunshine of Santa Fe. The cold morning wind blew across her face, but she didn't shiver. She felt warm. She felt free.
She opened the back door of her modest car, carefully securing Mateo’s baby carrier into the back seat. She looked down at her son, who opened his deep blue eyes—eyes that looked just like her father's—and gave a tiny, peaceful sigh.
"We did it, little one," Valeria whispered, brushing her thumb gently against his soft cheek. "We're going home."
As she stepped into the driver's seat and started the engine, her phone buzzed on the dashboard. It was a notification from the Global Real Estate Consortium.
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
Valeria De La Vega officially appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Chairwoman of De La Vega-Castañeda International Holdings.
Valeria smiled, set the phone aside, and merged into the bustling flow of Mexico City traffic. She had not only survived the betrayal of the man who swore to protect her; she had dismantled his empire, exposed his lies, and reclaimed her birthright—all while holding her eleven-day-old son in her arms.

And as the city skyline faded in her rearview mirror, Valeria knew that her story wasn't ending.
It was just beginning.
