CHAPTER 1 – "KNEEL... SO EVERYONE CAN SEE WHO YOU REALLY ARE."

The ballroom glittered like a palace.
Crystal chandeliers reflected across marble floors while the city's wealthiest guests raised champagne glasses to celebrate what everyone called the wedding of the year.
At the center of it all stood Isabella Hartwell.
Beautiful.
Rich.
Untouchable.
She smiled as cameras flashed from every direction.
Then her smile disappeared.
A maid accidentally brushed against the hem of her expensive wedding gown while carrying a tray of wine.
A tiny drop landed on the dress.
Silence.
The guests froze.
The terrified maid immediately dropped to her knees.
"I'm... I'm so sorry, Miss Hartwell..."
Instead of accepting the apology, Isabella grabbed the woman by the chin.
"You ruined a dress worth more than your entire life."
Then she looked around the ballroom with a cruel smile.
"No..."
"You don't deserve forgiveness."
"You deserve a lesson."
She ordered security to keep the maid on her knees in front of every guest.
"She'll stay there until my wedding ceremony is over."
Some people looked uncomfortable.
Others quietly applauded.
No one dared challenge the bride.
The maid lowered her head, tears falling onto the polished floor.
Just as the wedding orchestra began to play...
Something slipped from the maid's apron.
An old black-and-white photograph.
It landed beside Isabella's feet.
Without thinking, Isabella picked it up.
Her face instantly turned pale.
The smiling young woman in the photo looked exactly like her late mother...
Standing beside...
The maid.
And written on the back were six words that shattered Isabella's perfect world:
"To my sister... thank you for saving my daughter."
The champagne glass slipped from Isabella's hand.
It exploded against the marble floor.
For the first time in years...
The bride looked terrified.

And every guest knew...
Something had just gone horribly wrong.
