🚨 CHAPTER 7 — "Kill Your Sister… or Lose Everything"

The lights stayed out.

Only the red emergency lamps glowed across the marble floor, bathing the penthouse in blood-colored shadows.

No one spoke.

The voice returned through the speakers.

"You have exactly one hour."

"If Clara Hayes is still breathing when time expires..."

"...everyone inside this building dies."

The transmission ended.

Static.

Then silence.

Marco immediately reached for his radio.

"Seal every entrance!"

"Snipers on every rooftop!"

"Nobody gets in or out!"

Dozens of armed Salvatore soldiers rushed into position.

Leo didn't move.

His eyes remained fixed on Clara.

She was pale, confused, and terrified.

"What does he mean?"

Leo couldn't answer.

Because for the first time in his life...

He was afraid the truth might destroy them both.

One Hour Earlier...

A forgotten mansion stood on the outskirts of Chicago.

Deep beneath it...

An old man watched the security cameras with quiet satisfaction.

His name was Victor Moreau.

Thirty years ago...

He had been Leo Salvatore's father's closest friend.

Twenty-one years ago...

He betrayed him.

The fire that supposedly killed Leo's mother and little sister...

Had never been meant to kill anyone.

It had been designed to erase identities.

Victor had stolen the Salvatore fortune piece by piece while the world believed the entire family was dead.

Only one problem remained.

The missing little girl.

She had survived.

Without remembering who she was.

Victor smiled coldly.

"And now..."

"They've finally brought her back to me."

Back at the Penthouse...

Leo led Clara into a secure panic room.

"This room can survive explosives."

She shook her head.

"I don't understand any of this."

"You keep looking at me like you know me."

Leo removed the old photograph from his jacket.

"I don't know you."

"But I know her."

He handed Clara the picture.

She stared.

A young boy.

A little girl.

An elegant woman smiling between them.

Then...

Her hands began trembling.

The little girl...

Wore the exact same silver locket.

Same eyes.

Same smile.

Same tiny birthmark behind her left ear.

Clara instinctively touched the spot behind her ear.

Her fingers froze.

"I..."

"My aunt always said I got that mark from my mother."

Leo whispered,

"My mother used to kiss that birthmark every night before bed."

Clara felt the room spinning.

"No..."

"This can't be real."

"I remember my parents."

Leo looked at her gently.

"Do you?"

She opened her mouth...

Then stopped.

The memories suddenly felt wrong.

Faces blurred.

Voices mixed together.

Years of certainty began collapsing.

Marco burst through the reinforced door.

"Boss."

"We found something."

He placed an old leather folder on the table.

Inside...

Was an adoption record.

Not for Clara.

For a six-year-old girl named...

Lucia Salvatore.

Date of placement:

Three weeks after the mansion fire.

Adoptive parents:

Daniel and Sarah Hayes.

Clara covered her mouth.

"My parents..."

"They adopted me?"

Marco nodded slowly.

"They never kidnapped you."

"They rescued you."

Another document slipped from the folder.

A handwritten letter.

Daniel Hayes' signature.

Leo unfolded it carefully.

If anyone ever finds this letter...

Please don't hate us.

The people hunting Lucia murdered her family.

We changed her name because it was the only way to keep her alive.

If she ever remembers who she truly is...

Tell her we loved her every single day we were lucky enough to be her parents.

Tears rolled silently down Clara's face.

The people she had mourned...

Had never lied out of selfishness.

They had sacrificed everything to protect her.

Suddenly...

The building shook violently.

An explosion.

Then another.

Marco's radio erupted.

"They breached the underground garage!"

"We're under attack!"

Gunfire echoed through the lower floors.

Leo calmly stood.

He checked his pistol.

Then looked at Clara.

"I spent twenty-one years believing I had lost my little sister."

"I won't lose her twice."

Clara grabbed his wrist.

"You'll die."

Leo smiled for the first time since waking in the hospital.

"Maybe."

"But today..."

"They're coming into our home."

He turned toward the door.

More than a hundred armed men waited outside.

Every one of them looked to Leo for orders.

He spoke only four words.

"Bring me Victor alive."

The soldiers answered together.

"Yes, Boss."

As the elevator doors opened...

Automatic gunfire erupted from below.

The war for the Salvatore family...

May you like

Had finally begun.
