Chapter 2: The Secret That Destroyed a Legend

The ballroom remained frozen.

No one dared breathe.

Lily slowly picked up the silk bundle with trembling hands.

Inside was an old leather journal...

...a yellowed envelope sealed with black wax...

...and dozens of handwritten music manuscripts.

The elderly conductor rushed toward the stage.

The moment he opened the first page, his face turned completely white.

"No..."

His voice cracked.

"This handwriting..."

"It belongs to Amelia Carter."

Lily's mother.

The audience leaned closer.

The conductor carefully unfolded the letter.

It was addressed to:

"To whoever discovers the truth after I'm gone."

He began reading aloud.

Every sentence struck the room harder than the last.

Amelia confessed she had never stolen anyone's music.

Instead...

Her mentor had forced her to surrender every original composition under his own name.

When she refused, he fabricated evidence accusing her of plagiarism.

The music industry believed him.

She lost everything overnight.

Her career.

Her reputation.

Her friends.

Even sponsors abandoned her.

No one listened when she insisted she was innocent.

So she hid every original manuscript inside the only place no one would ever search—

her beloved piano.

Along with undeniable proof.

Original drafts.

Dated recordings.

Signed contracts.

Secret letters.

Everything.

The conductor's hands shook violently.

"I judged her..."

"I helped destroy her life."

A wealthy man standing in the front row suddenly collapsed into his chair.

He had been Amelia's former producer.

And he recognized his own signature on one of the fraudulent contracts.

Reporters who attended the gala immediately began taking photos.

Within minutes, the documents spread across social media.

The scandal exploded.

The truth that had remained buried for twenty years surfaced in a single evening.

Lily quietly looked at the stage where her mother's piano stood.

Then she noticed something else.

Hidden beneath the empty compartment...

One final folded note.

She opened it carefully.

Only one sentence was written.

"If you're reading this, Lily... you were never just my daughter."

Her eyes widened.

The back of the paper contained a DNA report.

And the name of her real father...

was sitting in the front row of the ballroom.

He had spent twelve years watching her life from a distance...

without ever knowing she was his daughter.

As their eyes met across the silent hall...

he slowly stood up...

May you like

and whispered,

"My little girl..."
