Chapter 6: The Twins Finally Meet... And One of Them Pulls a Gun

The world believed Victor Hale was running.

They were wrong.

He was hunting.

For twelve years, Victor had carefully raised one little girl in secret.

Her name was Ava.

She looked exactly like Lily.

The same blonde hair.

The same blue eyes.

The same gentle smile.

But everything inside her was different.

While Lily grew up with love, even through poverty...

Ava grew up with lies.

Victor had spent years filling her mind with one story.

"Your sister stole your life."

"Edward chose Lily instead of you."

"Your mother abandoned you."

"If Lily lives... you'll never be free."

Ava believed every word.

She had never questioned the man she called "Grandfather."

Thousands of miles away, Edward refused to wait for the authorities.

"I'm bringing both of my daughters home."

Ignoring FBI warnings, he boarded his private jet with Lily and a small rescue team.

Victor's last signal had come from an abandoned music academy hidden deep in the mountains—a place he had secretly owned for decades.

As they entered the crumbling building, old pianos lined the dusty hallways like silent ghosts.

Then...

A melody echoed through the darkness.

It was the same song Lily had played at the charity gala.

Lily froze.

"No..."

"I'm not playing."

The music continued.

Someone else knew the song.

Someone else had learned it perfectly.

Edward slowly pushed open the grand concert hall doors.

Under a single spotlight sat a girl wearing a white dress.

Her fingers danced across the piano with flawless precision.

She looked up.

The room fell silent.

Lily felt as though she were staring into a mirror.

Neither girl spoke.

Neither moved.

Tears filled Edward's eyes.

"My daughters..."

For one brief second...

it seemed like a miracle.

Lily smiled nervously.

"I'm Lily."

The other girl stood.

"I'm Ava."

She took one slow step forward.

Then another.

Lily opened her arms.

"I've been looking for you."

Ava stopped only inches away.

Her lips curled into a faint smile.

"I'm sorry."

Lily whispered,

"For what?"

Ava reached behind her back.

Pulled out a black pistol.

And pointed it directly at Lily's forehead.

Edward shouted,

"AVA, NO!"

But Victor Hale's voice suddenly echoed through hidden speakers all around the room.

"Excellent."

"My masterpiece is finally complete."

The walls began to shake.

Steel doors slammed shut.

Red emergency lights flooded the academy.

Then Victor appeared on a giant screen, smiling calmly.

"If one twin survives..."

"...the secret dies with the other."

Ava's finger tightened on the trigger.

Lily closed her eyes.

A deafening gunshot echoed through the empty concert hall...

May you like

But when the smoke cleared...

It wasn't Lily who had fallen.
