Chapter 3: The Father Who Never Knew

The man in the front row was Edward Blackwood—the billionaire host of the gala.

For twelve years, he had believed Amelia left him for fame.

But the hidden letter revealed the truth: Amelia was forced to disappear after her mentor threatened to destroy Edward too.

Edward walked onto the stage with tears in his eyes.

“Lily
” he whispered. “I didn’t abandon you. I never knew.”

Lily stepped back, confused and heartbroken.

“If you’re my father
where were you when Mom was dying?”

That question broke him.

Before Edward could answer, the former producer suddenly tried to snatch the documents from the conductor’s hands.

But the cameras caught everything.

Security rushed in.

The ballroom erupted in chaos.

Then Lily opened her mother’s journal to the final page.

There was one last instruction:

“Play the black key that never makes a sound.”

Lily turned back to the piano.

Her fingers searched carefully until she found one key that felt different.

She pressed it.

A second hidden compartment opened.

Inside was a small recorder.

When they played it, Amelia’s voice filled the room:

“Edward
if you ever hear this, they lied to both of us. And Lily is yours.”

Edward fell to his knees.

The crowd went silent.

The man who had hosted a charity gala for orphaned children had unknowingly abandoned his own daughter to poverty.

That night, Lily didn’t just restore her mother’s name.
